FUNSALUD
is founded on the commitment of its Associates (both institutions
and individuals), who are aware of the importance of the institution’s
social mission, which complements the academic capacity of its operational
structure. Thus, the interactions between a socially responsible
entrepreneurial platform, and an efficient and functional operative
component, have enabled the institution to broach specific high-priority
aspects within the health field.
Collegiate Bodies
FUNSALUD
is made up of a series of Founding, Active, Honorary and Institutional
Associates; at the moment there are a total of 187 individuals and/or
enterprises, as well as ten Honorary Associates, chosen by the General
Assembly, according to their contributions to health, philanthropy
and to the institution itself. The Associates have contributed to
the furtherance of the institution by donating their talent and
business acumen, their time and experience, as well as by helping
facilitate relations with the private sector and the country’s
government authorities.
The Foundation
is guided by its Statutes. These define its collegiate bodies which
consist of the following: a General Assembly of Associates; a Board
of Trustees, elected for a period of 2 years, and a Steering Committee,
involved in the assignation and enforcement of all decisions. The
President of the Board of Trustees relies on two organs for support
and advice: the Council of Ex-Presidents, whose members have already
occupied the post, and the International Advisory Group, whose members
are representatives from international organisms, enterprises with
branch offices in our country as well as international philanthropic
institutions, and is in charge of the international projection of
the Foundation.
Executive
Presidency
From
the very beginning, FUNSALUD’s basic criteria has been for
the Executive Presidency to rely on a minimal, highly qualified
staff, including an Executive President, an Executive Vice-President,
a General Coordinator and heads of different areas of operation,
who are responsible for the execution and follow-through of the
on-going programs. In order to attain a high degree of efficiency
for each project, it also relies on an advisory panel and a group
of health professionals who are hired for specific missions. The
Technical Advisory Council, whose members include ten distinguished
Mexican scientists and professional health specialists, helps the
Executive Presidency to evaluate programs, projects and proposals.
